"Sort of" crocodiles where there when the dinosaurs emerged, and when the (non-bird) dinosaurs snuffed it.
They were there when we emerged, and I wouldn't bet against them being there when we go extinct.
Especially as I wouldn't be there to collect...

I just googled ‘are crocodiles considered dinosaurs’ and discovered that although crocodiles aren’t considered dinosaurs, birds are.

At Singapore zoo they have a big tank where you can stand nose to nose with full grown crocs with glass between you.
